Fantastic!!! We saw The Caterpillar Hunter at the Finney County Public Library in Garden City, Kansas on June 18th. I am a first-time mom and my 10 month old daughter, who rarely sits still for anything, was mesmerized. My 9 yr old stepdaughter loved it and wanted to go back for more the next day. This is my 6th year teaching at Silver Springs. Every year I have been here, we have had a performance by Travelling Lantern actors. Neither I nor my students have EVER been disappointed. Dear Traveling Lantern,
Your production of Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol" is truly wonderful and memorable. We loved it, and so did the entire audience at yesterday's staging at the Santa Barbara Central Library. Your "Christmas Carol" script is intelligent and authentic to its source. The costumes, sets, and sound effects all seem just right too. The actors, Greg Lawson and Greg Tankersley, gave tremendous enthusiasm to their roles. Tankersley put so much genuine emotion, ranging from grief to pure joy, into his characterization of Scrooge, that I was moved to tears several times during his performance. His interpretation of Ebineezer Scrooge affected me more strongly than any other that I have seen on stage or screen. During their "questions and answers" session that followed the show, both actors treated each child with admirable respect. And both Lawson and Tankersley were very kind and helpful to my elderly parents and me, helping us find a good spot to place our wheelchair. For several years I was a volunteer with Northwest Children's Theatre in Portland, Oregon. We were known for our tasteful interpretaions of literary classics (including "A Christmas Carol" a few years ago). You have my sincere respect and appreciation for your work. Thank you. The company came to perform "The Hobbit" for children at our library yesterday and I would like to share how WONDERFUL the program was. Not only was the performance engaging to the children (KAZAM!), but the opportunity to talk with the actors afterword was tremendously well handled by the actors. Two of the children in the audience got scared at one point during the show, but neither left the show (one actually watched through the glass door when scared and came back in the room when not). After the show, a parent asked about how the kids might think about the scary parts when they got home. The actors handled it beautifully talking directly about what it means to play a role and that under those scary masks are "us"! They let the kids touch the masks and the children who were frightened became completely engaged and excalimed with big smiles, "cool!" I would like to compliment the actors on a very professional, fun and wonderfully delivered performance for the children in our community. We would LOVE to have you back for more shows!!!! THANK YOU!

The Sherlock Holmes performance was superb. Chris and Jude had the children and parents engaged from the beginning to end with roaring applause. My 4 1/2 year old son Christopher and I saw Chris and Tammy in a Sherlock Holmes play at the Rice Lake Wisconsin Library this past Wednesday. Tammy and Chris were so entertaining! My son and I laughed and had such a great time! They put on a great play and made the audience laugh, it seemed like everyone was having a fun time. I really appreicated that Chris took the time to say hello to Christopher after the show, it made him very happy. Thank you Tammy and Chris! You guys make an awesome pair! Myself and my children saw a Sherlock Holmes production with Mick and Alison at our local library today, 7/9/07, in Ramsey, NJ. They were outstanding and by far the best show we have ever seen. We moved from London 2 years ago and bravo to those great english accents performed by Mick and Alison. Can't wait to see them again. Good luck and keep up the fantastic work.

Thanks again for the excellent performance. The kids loved it ranging from little to older, adults loved it as well, and the staff very much enjoyed the program as well. Performers Mick and Alison galvanized our Summer Reading Club incentive with a fun performance of Sherlock Holmes Takes the Case leading to over 20 new registrees immediately after the show. My children and I really enjoyed the "Sherlock Homes on the Case" show at the Petaluma library yesterday. We also enjoyed your productions of "The Wizard of Oz", "Leonardo da Vinci" and "Mozart" last year. Will you be appearing in other libraries around Northern or Southern California this year? Traveling Lantern Theatre Co.

It is my distinct honor to recommend the Traveling Lantern to all schools across the country. The quality of the acting is superior and the cleverness of the sets and props is truly extraordinary. Not only do the actors put tremendous energy into each performance, but they also take time to answer students’ questions. Therefore, not only does each audience enjoy a wonderful performance but also they gain knowledge of the special facets of a theatrical production.

6th Graders perform "Julius Caesar"!

Wow! We were really impressed to hear that sixth grders in Mrs. Osterlund's class in Irrigon took on Mr. Shakespeare, and mounted a production of "Julius Caesar"! Greg and Greg took some time to help them out when they were performing there, and it looks like the production was a great success. (Click on these pictures to view a larger version.)
